To the girls who have too many notebooks,

Hi. I’m Brielle. I write this to you because I’m like you. I just chucked 8 old journals last week and I still have 13 left that are busting at the brims.

You probably make a lot of lists….a lot of to-do’s and to-don’ts. In those same pages, you might hide titles like “parenting tips” and “what to look for in a husband” and “goals to achieve by 2020”. These lists aren’t something you show to people, but they take a lot of your time and explain so much about you. You write down ways you could be more helpful to people and all the times someone taught you how to make other people feel like crap, titled, “please don’t be this person when you grow up”.

I want to tell you something.

When God has a plan, that plan is perfect. He doesn’t follow your rule book or go by your 5 year layout. He won’t take your pretend 2 kids in account or let you graduate college before He moves in your life in wild ways.

God gives a clear word and that word is to have faith. You don’t need to “know in advance” to know that whatever He delivers will be good. Your destiny is never dead and it is certainly not carved out by your own two hands in dirt that doesn’t belong to you. When you see glimpses of your purpose, it will be carved into gold by the mighty hand of the King of everything. Peace was promised to you before you tasted life. Anxiety doesn’t have a place there. Anger doesn’t have a place there. Disappointment doesn’t have a place there.

When God wrecks YOUR plans, its because He could already see how they would have wrecked you. He is only good. He provides; He protects; He takes care of everything.

He will not leave you comfortless and He won’t just come. He will stay.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you.                                 Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” (John 14:27).
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1)
